NASCAR PAINTKIT "How To Use Customized Individual Cars In NASCAR Racing" The PaintKit included with NASCAR by Papyrus allows you to change the decals, colors, and even the Pit Crew's uniform, of each team's car. This outline was made to assist users in bringing downloaded cars into their NASCAR game. 1. Go into the NASCAR PaintKit. 2. Find the car you want to get rid of. 3. Click the EXPORT button at the bottom. (remember the sponsor and car number.) 4. Exit PaintKit and look in the directory C:\NASCAR. You should see a .PCX file in the form "sponsor+number.PCX" For this example, I'll call this file NASC94.PCX (which is your car in the game.) (Extra) If you want to save the original car for later, COPY, not move, the file to C:\NASCAR\CARS\ORIGINAL 5. IMPORTANT: PaintKit will only import a car with the same name to the same location. What this means is that you must copy CHEER.PCX as NASC94.PCX and put it in the C:\NASCAR directory. Now the file NASC94.PCX is really the Cheer Car. 6. Enter PaintKit, go to the old car you are trying to get rid of, and click IMPORT. You should see the new Cheer car. 7. Remember that you are only importing decals. Now you must go to "Paint Shop" and "Paint Suit" to match colors with the decals you just imported. 8. Click Save. 9. To see the results, enter NASCAR, select Driver Info, Opponents, and find your new car. Pretty slick eh? If this seems like a lot of work, it's really not that bad once you do it a few times. I think the results are by far worth the effort. There are a few bad cars in the game that need replaced and there are a lot of cool cars you can download in the Sports Simulations Forum on CompuServe. Try creating from scratch!
