NASCAR SCREEN CAPTURE IMAGES "How To Get Screen Capture Images from NASCAR Racing" Many of you have inquired about how to create 3d car images. The 3d cars are simply screen captures from within the game. You should be able to capture most any screen. However, there are some exceptions to this. For example, my system is not able to get the screens shown at the end of a race (i.e. the checkered flag shot or the winner's circle screen). To create a screen capture, do the following: 1. Go to a screen that you want to capture. (I get most of my shots from the rotating car screens found under the Driver's Info menu. The Garage section can also provide you with a number of interesting car views for capturing.) 2. Do the following depending on your operating environment: a. If you are running the game from DOS, just press the 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard b. If you are running the game from within Windows 95, hold down the 'Ctrl' key and then press the 'Print Screen' key. 3. This will create a pcx file in your default NASCAR directory. The file will be named nascar01.pcx. If you make multiple screen captures, they will be named sequentially (for example, if you make three screen captures, the other files would be named nascar02.pcx and nascar03.pcx). 4. Next, use your favorite graphic editing program to crop, convert, and manipulate the graphic file. See my FILES/UTILITIES web page for links to some of the programs that I use for editing PCX images. Please see the documentation that comes with these programs if you need additional help cropping, converting, and manipulating graphic images. (Please note that PCX files must be converted into either a GIF or JPG file format before they can be displayed on a web page). These instructions should work for most systems; however, some systems have alternate keyboard configurations that control screen printing. If you are unable to create screen captures using the above methods, please consult your system's user's manual to determine if your system has non-standard keyboard or screen print features. For example, some systems use the asterisk character (i.e., *) from the numeric keypad to peform screen prints. ----------------- The above instructions are from Spyder's NASCAR Racing page http://home.gvi.net/~spyder/nascar.html
