SQL SERVER 7.0 SP1 BETA 1
**************************************************
Microsoft has just announced the beta for SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack 1
(SP1), which fixes several problems in SQL Server 7.0. You can download SP1
Beta 1 from the Microsoft FTP site at
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles.

Microsoft has separated the service pack into the following self-extracting
files:
  - sql70sp1a.exe - Alpha server components
  - sql70sp1i.exe - Intel server components
  - sql70olapsp1a.exe - Alpha OLAP Services components
  - sql70olapsp1i.exe - Intel OLAP Services components

Localized versions of SP1 Beta 1 are also available, with the above
filenames preceded by a language identifier: JP_ for Japanese, GR_ for
German, FR_ for French, and ES_ for Spanish. Note that localized Alpha
versions are not available in German, French, or Spanish.

To install SQL Server or OLAP SP1, download the appropriate file(s) and
execute them. The installer will prompt you for a password. Enter "SP1BETA"
for the password, and choose a location to extract the files to. Make sure
you read the readme.txt files before you install anything. As always, any
beta software is not production software and you shouldn't install it on
production systems.

Microsoft has set up a newsgroup for bug reports, questions, and general
feedback on this beta release. To access the newsgroup, use the following
information:

Server: privatenews.microsoft.com
User Name: sql7sp1beta
Password: A7G49CV9

You can post messages to either microsoft.private.sqlserver7.server for
client- and server-related concerns or
microsoft.private.sqlserver7.olap for OLAP Services-related issues
