You can download SP1 Beta 1 from the Microsoft FTP site at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles. Microsoft has separated the service pack into the following self-extracting files: - sql70sp1a.exe - Alpha server components - sql70sp1i.exe - Intel server components - sql70olapsp1a.exe - Alpha OLAP Services components - sql70olapsp1i.exe - Intel OLAP Services components Localized versions of SP1 Beta 1 are also available, with the above filenames preceded by a language identifier: JP_ for Japanese, GR_ for German, FR_ for French, and ES_ for Spanish. Note that localized Alpha versions are not available in German, French, or Spanish. To install SQL Server or OLAP SP1, download the appropriate file(s) and execute them. The installer will prompt you for a password. Enter "SP1BETA" for the password, and choose a location to extract the files to. Make sure you read the readme.txt files before you install anything. As always, any beta software is not production software and you shouldn't install it on production systems. Microsoft has set up a newsgroup for bug reports, questions, and general feedback on this beta release.
